One last question which comes into mind is the one of freedom. Spinoza states that everything that is, is in a certain manner because it could not have been otherwise. This implies that there are universal laws which derive directly and necessarily from God's nature. On the other hand, the individuals should be considered as having the power to become modifications of the supreme substances attributes. In this manner, the existing reality should be determined by both the universal laws and the actions of the individuals, just like in a game of domino.
